John Gilmartin is senior vice president and co-leader of NFP’s Life Insurance practice in Canada. He plays a key leadership role in driving strategy, innovation and operational excellence across the Life business. As chief operating officer at Financial Architects Partners (an NFP subsidiary), John brings over 20 years of experience in building and managing large life insurance portfolios for high- –net -worth clients. He also consults across NFP and collaborates with carriers to enhance service and performance.

Sally Hagan leads the Group Benefits, Retirement, MGA business and Group Force for NFP in Canada, working on strategic partnerships with carriers and advisors to deliver the best results for our clients.
Sally has over 20 years of experience in the business with an established record of success in delivering secure solutions on employee group benefits plans of all sizes in both the public and private sectors.
Before joining NFP in 2016, she worked at a large consulting firm for over 13 years.
Corporate Leadership

Tara Carruthers is the chief financial officer at NFP in Canada. As CFO, Tara focuses on NFP’s financial planning and analysis and on assessing and capitalizing on our company’s financial strengths and opportunities.
Tara joined the company in 2018 following NFP’s acquisition of Dalton Timmis Insurance Group. Utilizing her considerable expertise, evident in her CGA, CPA, and Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker designation and RIBO licence, Tara manages all the financial operations of NFP in Canada.

As associate general counsel for NFP’s Canadian operations, Lesley Munk works closely with the company’s business leaders overseeing all corporate legal matters and supporting acquisitions in Canada. Lesley is responsible for mitigating NFP’s legal risk while maximizing opportunities within the company’s diversified business.
Prior to joining NFP, Lesley held the role of general counsel and corporate secretary with RSA Canada, a large P&C carrier. Prior to that, Lesley spent several years in private practice, working on M&A and other corporate transactions. Lesley earned her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from Huron College at the University of Western Ontario.

Mary drives NFP’s PeopleFirst agenda. In particular, she partners with NFP’s business leaders to ensure the strategies employed and programs offered attract, engage and retain top talent. Mary is also responsible for all Human Resources field operations, talent management, recruiting, and community and charity initiatives, among others. Mary joined NFP in 2008 and she has progressively taken on more responsibilities throughout her tenure. Mary has been working in human resources for over 25 years across a range of industries including financial services, hospitality, restaurants and construction. Her experience, paired with her knowledge of NFP’s rich culture and history, positions her strongly to help define where we need to go to support our employees and culture. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in management from the University of Texas at Austin.
Inclusion and Belonging Leadership

Jaimie Mulder is the diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging committee chair of NFP in Canada. She also works as a commercial mid-market client manager for the organization. She has over 13 years of experience in the insurance industry, specializing in construction and manufacturing. Jaimie is committed to building strong relationships with her clients by providing them quality service. She focuses on creating a sense of belonging through partnerships and education for employees, encouraging all to be their authentic selves.
In addition to her role at NFP, Jaimie serves on the DEI Committee for the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario. She also volunteers as a board member of a local professional trade association, planning events that increase education and diversity among insurance industry professionals.
